“I moved to Portland 5 years ago for residency training as a physician and found my passion, pole dancing, at the same time. Ever since then, I’ve been struggling to become more flexible for pole. I decided to work with Jonathan because traditional stretching wasn’t getting me any closer to my goals. Between a relatively sedentary 9-5, and high-impact, prescriptive dance classes, I was searching for a more sustainable way to move my body.
Jonathan created a program based on my individual goals and gave me specific exercises to work on in between our sessions. At the end of our 3 months together, I am consistently dropping down into both my left and right splits, and am finally able to fully extend my arms in a backbend!
Mobility training has taught me to listen to my body and respond to what it needs, which allows me to push the boundaries of my abilities in a safe way. Instead of just doing what I’m told in a class, I am now more in tune with how my body moves organically, which has helped me become a better dancer too.”
